We had a really good 4th of July, even with sub-par weather. Fortunately, our weekend wasn't planned around going to see some huge fireworks show. There were enough people around my house lighting them off to get a good, free show. Great for us, but my dog was terrified.
Friday night, my wife and I took her brother out to eat at Olive Garden. He just graduated high school and enlisted for the army. He leaves in November for boot camp. I think it will be really good for him. He gets into a lot of trouble around here by putting himself in bad situations and running his mouth. The army should teach him some respect and discipline that he needs. He's excited too. He loves anything outdoors, and he's always buying the gear, like this
5.11 clothing. I think he'll be a great soldier, once he gets under control. I know it's hard on his family, but they did a poor job of disciplining him, so this will be good.
On Saturday, the wife and I just worked on the house and our ecommerce store for a while. We had dinner with friends that night. I was able to get my free hair cut with my
Oster clipper blades, which was nice. Funny how you look to save some money in a down economy. A $20 haircut is definitely something I can do without. At the party, we had a great 4th of July meal - burgers, fruit salad, chips, and some great desserts. We stayed up late playing games and having a good time.
Yesterday, I went to the Reds game by myself and enjoyed some baseball and introvert time. I wanted to go see Mr. Pujols, the best hitter in the game. Bought a $5 ticket from a scalper and enjoyed the game.
Arroyo really sucked it up though. Good thing I had no expectation of winning that game vs. Carpenter.
